Long Ago and Far Away

Long ago a young man sits and plays his waiting game
But things are not the same it seems as in such tender dreams
Slowly passing sailing ships and Sunday afternoon
Like people on the moon I see are things not meant to be
Where do those golden rainbows end?
Why is this song so sad?
Dreaming the dreams I've dreamed my friend
Loving the love I love
To love is just a word I've heard when things are being said
Stories my poor head has told me cannot stand the cold
And in between what might have been and what has come to pass
A misbegotten guess alas and bits of broken glass

Where do your golden rainbows end?
Why is this song I sing so sad?
Dreaming the dreams I dream my friend
Loving the love I love to love to love to love

~James Taylor
i love the girls echo on the chorus....

updating

okay wednesday i was just exhausted because aside from the not-getting-enough-sleep-regularly thing.... i had a poetry project due and i stayed up till flippin 3 o'clock so i was quite tired. but the whole day i was lookin forward to going out to eat with betsy and lara and her family at texas roadhouse! so yeah that was so much fun... i don't think i have ever laughed so much in one night as in last night. tea spilled... saddles were ridden.... legs were stared at... arms were licked... weird looks were given... thats all i can say lol. and then we rode back to the school so chelsie could get her car... and we had to go nick inside (and saw him when we got there!) (and no there are no missed words or typos...) and the car ride to reynolds was hilarious... and then it got quiet all the sudden..well anyway now todays thursday and i'm still really tired cuz staying up talking is not a good way of getting a lotta sleep.... so i'm going to bed!

The wind was biting...

The wind was biting as if it hadn't eaten in ages. The air swarm around in cold bursts. The weather was unrelentingly harsh, but in those snow-capped mountains, if you follow the trodden trail, you'll find a place of relief. There lies a cozy cabin inbetween the big pine trees, a place to step inside from the cold. When you enter through the cedar doors, the blazing fire envelopes you in warmth. The large comfy couch sitting infront of the fireplace is the perfect place to cover up with layers of soft blankets and sip hot cocoa. Looking out the window, you see you are surrounded by nature and trees and an open sky. I think we all wish we had a cabin in the woods, just to escape for even a day or two and not have a care in the world.
