On a lonely hillside...
On a lonely hillside lies the loudest silence.
With the city lights beneath you and the heavenly ones above,
You gaze upon the rest of the world, not hearing a sound.
But your mind is blaring with contemplative thoughts of regret ,
You wish you could take it back
but words cannot be reversed and pain cannot be erased
You wish you would have thought before you said;
but impulse overruled.
Now you begin to trudge down the rocky path
to face the noise of the world.
To face the one who yours words have pierced,
and face his jaded ears and judgmental eyes.
But at least your mind will be eased
from the shouts and screams of your conscience
When you finally face the one you fear.
